SANEC Mission - 13 september Participants from the South African trade mission jointly organized by the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the Southern Africa - Netherlands Chamber of Commerce (SANEC), descended on the Holland Gateway compound for an intense program. Arriving from The Hague after a final checkout from their hotel, the delegates prepared themselves for the 2nd day of their 5 day mission in the Netherlands, with presentations from SANEC, Schiphol Area Development Company (SADC) and the Southern African Netherlands Transport Forum (SANTF)
The formal program kicked off with a presentation from Executive director of Holland Gateway Micaela Dos Ramos, who informed the attentive audience about the nature of the Holland Gateway concept, its origin, its mission and the added value to the participants activities. The presentation was followed by a presentation by SANEC Board member Mark Reyneker who further elaborated on the program of the day and commented briefly on the good start to the mission. This opened up the floor to a presentation by Schiphol Area Development Company’s international marketing director, Paul van den Brink. In his discourse he expressed SADC’s continued commitment to promoting the lustre of the Schiphol Area and its attractiveness, including the attractiveness of the region, to investors through the promotion and development of prime real estate property. This marked the beginning of one of the main parts of the day; the SANTF Seminar Corridor Development in the SADC region. ‘Co-operation in Growth’ was a fitting underscore for the intended goal of the seminar; to get companies enthused for intercontinental cooperation with the Southern African Development Community region. A total of eight parties gave informative presentations to audience.
Lunch was served in between the matchmaking sessions that took place at the WTC Business Center which represented the practical part of the day. The matchmaking between all the parties took around two hours, after which the participants were led to their shuttle service to take them back to the Hague for a networking reception at the South African Embassy in The Hague. |
