Amsterdam this year ranks in the top 5 of best cities for stettlement for companies in Europa. The city rose from sixth to fourth position. This is the result of the annual research published Wednesday by consultancy firm Cushman & Wakefield about the best European locations for settlement for enterprise. In the European Cities Monitor research managers of 500 of the largest companies in nine European countries answer the question of which cities perform best in 12 different factors. London, like last year, is considered to be the best place for settlement, followed by Paris and Frankfurt.

This due in part to the progress that the city booked in the criterion "reputation as a city for business". Amsterdam ranked 4th in this discipline this year, with a score of 59% (previous year 48%). Another explanation for the rise is the fact that a number of other cities, like Brussels and Barcelona, dropped more significantly than Amsterdam on a number of points, resulting in a better relative performance for Amsterdam. Besides that, Amsterdam scores better on the criterion "living standard" and "environmental pollution". In the discipline "languages spoken" Amsterdam ranks third. Moscow Moscow scores exceptionally well on two factors. The city received the most votes for the "best settlement location for possible expansion in the coming 5 years" and also sees an enormous rise in the discipline of accessibility, jumping from 19th to 11th position. Germany stands out with at least 3 cities in the top 10: Frankfurt (3), Berlin (5), and Munich (9). Bucharest is the biggest climber this year as a whole and climbs from 35th position to 27th position.
