| Vietnamese delegation visited the Netherlands |

March 18th saw the gathering of the Dutch Ministry of Finance representative Wouter Koolmees and a delegation of the Central Institute for Economic Management (CIEM) of Vietnam. The delegation was led by Mr. Tran Xuan Lich, Vice President. Wouter Koolmees, head of fiscal policy at the Dutch Ministry of Finance, presented the budgetary policy of the Netherlands and shared his experiences with and vision of the financial crisis. The Vietnamese delegation expressed great interest in the efficiency with which the Dutch infrastructure funds and economic funds is managed under the budget ceiling. After the presentation there was time for discussion and questions. One of the topics of importance was finding ways to improve government expenditure efficiency in the Netherlands. This was debated at length and provided valuable insights for the Vietnamese delegation. The participants expressed their gratitude towards Wouter Koolmees for providing his valuable discourse and voiced their appreciation of the event. The Central Institute for Economic Management (CIEM) is one of the most important think tanks in Vietnam and operates under the direct authority of the Ministry of Planning and Investment.
