Description of the region:The North Holland Province has over 2 million inhabitants, with the Capital city of Amsterdam inside its borders. It is thus very much a centre of activity in the Netherlands. Also for international traffic with over of 3,5 million foreign visitors descending on the region. North Holland North is well known for its agribusiness (horticulture, Seed Valley) , energy (sustainable and offshore oil, gas and wind), nuclear health and tourism. Its location being surrounded by water has resulted in the investment in Delta technology. Its proximity to the ‘Aflsuitdijk’ and short connections to Flevoland also add to the appeal of the region. The Province also has an efficient connection to Northern Netherlands Friesland via the Aflsuitdijk. International telecom companies are increasingly choosing for the province of South Holland to locate their operations. The presence of leading companies like KPN, Siemens, the National Electronic Communications Authority OPTA all situated in the Hague, an ICT & media University in Zoetermeer and Delft ICT Knowledge institutes have significantly contributed to the growth of the ICT & telecom cluster in the province of South Holland . It is home to a cluster of upstream oil and gas companies operating in exploration and production as well as to several international engineering and consultancy firms. One of the largest energy related companies is Royal Dutch Shell with their global headquarters in The Hague. The Leiden Bio Science Park is home to the largest concentration of life sciences activities in The Netherlands, and among the top bioscience parks in Europe. Being among the top four UN cities in the world, The Hague has established a strong reputation in the field of Peace, Justice and Security. The province of Utrecht is an ideal locations for establishing a new organization. Their central location in The Netherlands makes them a pre-eminent meeting place for people and companies.
